19th Century Gas Light sconce with unaltered parts and Welsbach Junior gas burner with clamping shade holder. The gas parts were NOT drilled or changed as far as we can tell. The light and burner are UNTESTED for use. Extends about 15 out from wall. The brass cover for the mounting bracket is 3 diameter and is not original to the sconce. There is a swivel bracket on the arm that is stiff, but it does swing side-to-side.
The internal (hidden) iron mounting bracket looks modern, probably from when it was polished and electrified in the 1960s-70s. There is silver solder at the joints, which looks old and professionally done, but we aren't sure if they are original joints or later repairs, but they are not a problem at all. The period etched glass Shade is included. 4" tall x 4" diameter. The shade ring holds a 2-1/4 fitter. There is normal wear from age and use on the surface. There are some small fleabites on the top edge of the ground glass.
