Gorgeous Pair Of Antique Brass 3 Candle Wall Sconces With Figural Bacchus Motif

For sale is a wonderful antique pair of brass figural mirror backed three arm candle wall sconces. The surface having an antiqued brass coloration.

Probably circa 1900 in age. Retaining original square cut brass nuts.

The pair having gorgeous beveled mirror glass backs underneath a figure of Roman god Bacchus or Greek (Dionysus). Bacchus was essentially a copy of the Greek god Dionysus. He was the god of agriculture and wine and ecstasy and the son of Jupiter (Zeus in Greek mythology). He wandered the earth, showing people how to grow vines and process the grapes for wine.

The figural element is surrounded by swirling grape leaf patterns leading down to a leafy drop swag containing three candle arm holders. Condition: Overall good for age.

One glass mirror have an unobtrusive interior hairline crack that is not chipped out at all (see pic). Old residual drip wax residue from past usage.

Some warps to candle arms. Beveled Mirrors - 8 x 5.
