Vintage Pair Gold Gilt Bronze Heavy Brass Electric 2 Lamp Light Arm Wall Sconces

Offered is a superb pair of vintage gold gilt electric two-lamp candle sconces. The pair is in very good condition with the exception of some minor discoloration due to age, which is patina, as reported in the photos.

The sconces measure 14 wide and 16.5 tall. The sconces project about 9 out from the wall they are mounted upon. There is a push button on and off switch on the center column that appears to be working.

The lamps are decorated in the French manner, they appear to be in a French Empire or Directoire style, with the arms emerging from a reeded or fluted urn central body that has been decorated with a bell flower motif inside the flutes. The two arms of the sconce are decorated with acanthus leaves. The two candle cups or bobeches are decorated with acanthus or tobacco leaves.

These are beautiful, high quality sconces, with nice high relief detailing, and each sconce weighs ten pounds! Wiring appears to be in good condition and each sconce was working as it should when I removed them from the house that I acquired them from.
