Vintage Pair Of Italian Neoclassical Gilt Wood & Metal Wall Sconces Bow & Eagle

Beautiful pair of Italian Neoclassical candle wood wall sconces with French bow and eagle. Opposing pair of carved wood sconces gilted, each shaped as draped fabric with tassels, surmounted by eagle, French bow and crossed arrows.

Two scrolling iron candle arms with wood candles and bobeches. Each sconce measures 36" tall X 15" wide X 9 deep. Even though the general condition of both sconces is good and the flaws mentioned below are not noticeable unless with very close inspection, here they are.

The sconce with eagle facing left has a split in the wood in the section below the eagle, on both sides showing on picture #9. This is hardly noticeable when the sconce is on display.

Also, there is an old break on the top arrow that was glued back in place, picture # 8. The sconce with eagle facing right, has an old break at the end of the French bow on the left (as facing picture) which has been glued long time ago. This is again not showing with naked eye. On the same sconce, the eagle has a crack separating it horizontally from wings up and we can also see a crack that was jointed in the past on the bow on the right side. Both details are seen in picture # 10.
