Current number of watchers: 7. The quality of my items is superb and buyers always get a bargain! A fine well-made pair of English 20th century black and gold painted tole metal wall lanterns, in the chinoiserie taste.
Each having a paneled pagoda top with a crested spire, every other panel painted with gold scales and figural decorations, with a shaped edge accented with scrolled and dangling bells, atop a pierced floral frieze cornice, with a glass door and sides and a mirrored back, atop a pierced floral base. There is a hole situated at rear top panel of crest to accommodate wall mounting with a nail or screw. Approximate measurements: 25.5 in. High x 11.5 in. Wide x 8.75 in.
Unelectrified, these are for candles, but they can easily be wired for electrical lighting by a professional lighting expert by drilling a hole in the bottom to add a light socket, since electrified versions of these were made as well. Unmarked, as they were custom made for Mallet. One very tiny chip to upper right corner of one glass panel, which is not really visible unless you do a close inspection (See last 2 photos). I would not bother to replace it, but the glass panel can be easily replaced by ordering a new panel from a hardware store (the glass panels are held in place by tiny prongs on the inside).
