Art Deco Markel Antique Slip Shade Copper Pearl Glass Wall Fixture Sconces Pair
Markel sconces and have been referred to as Horn if Plenty. Signed on the back of the frames. Made of a medium to heavy solid metal. Stripped and repainted with 24K gold paint and oil rubbed for detail of the accents. The base is a medium a gold and Sealed with a satin clear.
The glass compliments the frame with a beautiful thick glass, that has a shell design referred to as chevron shades. They have a pearlescent exterior with a painted interior. There is one flake chip that is hidden when installed and there is a small area at the bottom of one of them that has minor scratches again hidden. The shades are just about 10 years shy of 100 and looks The sconces are in very good condition from the 1930s they have been restored and Nothing in the market today will do what these beautiful fixtures do to bring out the beauty of your home.
They measure approximately 10 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 wide and 4 depth from the wall. All mounting hardware is included, all electrical has been update with UL approved products.
The sockets can easily handle 100 watts, but we recommend a limit of 60 - 65 watts if incandescent bulbs are to be used. This is to protect the slip shades from excessive heat. Greater light output can be obtained by using energy efficient LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs. These types of light bulbs operate at cooler temperatures, and do not emit as much heat as incandescent.
