This is an AMAZING PAIR! These antique, French wall sconces are quite impressive. Empire style with bodies of heavy, cast brass with a large shield in the center. They are accented with bronze swags, acanthus leaves and French bows and ribbons.

The pair are late 19th or very early 20th century. They are of the finest quality but are not marked. The pair weigh approximately 40 lbs. The sconces have 5 arms which are adorned with thick, bronze acanthus leaves. They have satin glass, rosette shades.

The sconces are in very nice, ORIGINAL condition with some expected aging to the patina. There are some age spots which can be resolved if you so choose. The wiring is original and in working condition. The sockets have all been updated at some point and the sconces are working. There are two areas of wiring on the back of each sconce and we do recommend that the hardwiring be done by a professional.

Again, the pair are very heavy. They are held together with their original, large bolts on the back.

The glass shades are in good condition with two of the shades having slightly broken edge. Because of their design, this is almost impossible to notice.

There is some chipping to the fitters on a couple of the shades. The shades are held in place with the original set screws. Each sconce is 41" tall, 16" wide from shade tips, and extend 10 from the wall.
