Here we have an iconic, 1970's era VINTAGE CHAPMAN FIGURAL BRASS TURTLE SHELL SCONCE. This was acquired from a Family that had a high end furniture & lighting store that closed in the 1970's here in Toledo, Ohio. Still has the original CHAPMAN string tag. The condition is wonderful as you can see.

I would venture a guess that this is without a doubt the nicest example out there. It is not often you find something like this that is around 50 years old has never been used. This is an unusual form of the iconic Chapman turtle shell lamp as most were table models. This one was designed to be used as a wall sconce. Still has the original brass tubes to cover the cord if plugged in down near the floor.

It measures approximately 11 inches tall by 8 1/4 inches across " shell portion only ". The brass tubes measure about 18 inches each and do fit together to form one section of tube.
